Artwork and Image Loans at an Enchanting Place

When the Carl-Henning Pedersen & Else Alfelt Museum was founded in 1976, it was with the aim of making art accessible to as many people as possible. This DNA remains central to the museum today, and we are happy to lend artworks and share information from our extensive archive.

Below you can read more about the loan of artworks as well as the request for photographic material.

Artwork Loans

Carl-Henning Pedersen & Else Alfelt Museum lends artworks to museums and exhibition venues where the museum can approve the security conditions and where the necessary professional expertise for handling artworks is in place.

Loan Application

Requests for loans of works from the museum’s collection must be submitted in writing and include information about:

  • requested artworks

  • exhibition period

  • exhibition venue

  • exhibition concept

The request should be sent to Museum Director Lotte Korshøj at chplk@herning.dk.

We recommend that loan requests are submitted well in advance and preferably at least six months before the expected opening of the exhibition.

Loan Procedure

Upon entering into a loan agreement, a loan contract is signed between the museum and the borrower.

The artworks must be insured by the borrower, and the insurance must be “nail-to-nail” and cover all risks. The insurance policy must include the following clause: “Regardless of the nature or extent of any damage, or the amount of compensation, the artwork remains the property of the Carl-Henning Pedersen & Else Alfelt Museum.”

Transport

Transport of artworks must be carried out by an approved art shipper in a climate-controlled vehicle. The borrower is responsible, in cooperation with the transport company, for arranging the transport.

Dates for collection and return are coordinated with Museum Director Lotte Korshøj at chplk@herning.dk.

Costs

All costs related to the loan are covered by the borrower. This includes, but is not limited to, insurance, packing, framing, conservation, transport, and any courier accompaniment.

Questions regarding loans can be directed to Museum Director Lotte Korshøj at chplk@herning.dk.
