Free admission for students and teaching staff from our neighbours VIA Design & Business Herning and AU Herning.

In collaboration with HEART – Herning Museum of Contemporary Art, we offer combined tickets that grant access to both museums on the same day.

If you arrive by car, you can park for free in the square in front of the museum for up to two hours when a parking disc is displayed.

By contacting the Museum Shop and reception, you can obtain a free parking ticket valid for the entire day. The parking ticket must be placed clearly visible in the windscreen of your car.

If you arrive by bus, the nearest stops are:

• Industrivej Syd

• Birk Campus

If you arrive by train, the nearest stations are:

• Birk Centerpark (approximately a 12-minute walk from the museum)

• Herning Station (from where you can take a local bus to the museum)

Entrance

You reach the museum’s main entrance in the round blue building via the ramp over the moat. The ramp is wide with a solid surface, making it accessible for wheelchair users. From here, you pass through an automatic sliding door and a manual glass door into the museum, where the reception is located on the right.

Exit

Your route through the museum’s exhibitions ends in Angligården, where you will also find the Museum Shop and the Micro Café, Aage’s Corner. From here, you can go directly out to the courtyard in front of the museum. If needed, staff will be happy to provide a ramp across the two steps that separate Angligården from the courtyard.

It is also possible to return through the exhibitions and exit via the museum’s main entrance. 

Companions of visitors with disabilities are granted free admission upon presentation of a valid companion card.

The museum is accessible for both electric and manual wheelchairs.

Accessible toilets are available near the main entrance and in the underground exhibition space “Kuben”.

Elevators are available between the museum’s floors at the main entrance and at the end of the exhibition route in Angligården.

At the entrance and exit in Angligården, staff will be happy to assist with placing a ramp over the two steps that separate Angligården from the courtyard upon request.

The courtyard in front of the museum has a gravel surface.

In the museum’s exhibitions, you will often find benches, stools, or other seating depending on the design of each exhibition.

You are always welcome to borrow a lightweight folding chair from the reception at the main entrance for use in all exhibition spaces.

Children under 18 always have free admission to the museum.

You are welcome to bring your own stroller or pram with you around the museum.

In the underground exhibition space “Kuben,” you will find a toilet with a changing table.

You are welcome to breastfeed or give a bottle in the sofas at the main entrance and in the Micro Café, Aage’s Corner in Angligården. If you need to heat a bottle, a microwave is available upon request at the reception in the main entrance.

Animals are not permitted inside the museum.

Guide dogs and service dogs are exempt.
